Genie is a search utility for a network environment. It is based on a client-server mechanism. It is used by any client to search for all files in the file server which contain a given string or pattern.

Genie has been developed in VC++ 6.0 using the technologies of Winsock Programming and OLE Automation. I developed this solution with my friend Rajorshi Biswas.

Genie is useful for any enterprise environment where all kinds of information are stored in various Microsoft® Word™, Microsoft® Excel™ and text files kept in a file server. With the pressure of project deadlines and the need for fast, concise information, Genie can be a great help for any employee.
